SRINAGAR, Nov 29: United Jehad Council (UJC) has strongly condemned the killing of people in Mumbai blasts and maintained that UJC has no role in these blasts.
In a faxed statement to local news agency, KNS, spokesman of UJC, Sadaqat Hussain quoting its chief, Syed Salah-u-din said that the UJC was strongly against the killing of innocent people and no outfit or individual would be ever allowed to commit the crime.
He said that the network of Kashmiri militants was confined to the J and K and security forces and their installations were their targets. He denied any role of UJC in Mumbai blasts but said that for past 60 years government of India and some fanatic groups were mercilessly victimising the minority communities.
He said that there have been more than 37000 incidents of communal riots in which people of minority community have been targeted and their properties set ablaze besides religious places desecrated. UJC chief viewed that in these incidents, no person was held guilty and justice was not meted out to the victims.
Syed Salah-u-din said that the mass killings in the incidents of Samjhauta Express, Malegaon blasts and Gujarat riots were attributed to militant outfits but there were strong evidences that high level Indian security force officials, politicians and religious leaders were behind these inhuman acts.
He viewed that these acts were aimed at defaming the image of Pakistan and Muslims and used as a tool to victimise Muslims. UJC said that instead of blaming neighbours for such attacks, India should do in depth investigations in wake of these incidents and protect and safeguard the interests of minority community and stop committing atrocities on these people.
He appealed Hurriyat leaders to remain united in all circumstances and instead of bringing differences in media, sort out these with help of Kashmir Coordination Committee (KCC). He hoped that Hurriyat leadership will exhibit broad vision, show maturity and do not give any disappointment to people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Jamait Ahlihadess and Dukhtran-e-Kashmir while expressing their condolences to the relatives of those killed in Mumbai blasts have strongly condemned the blasts. In a statement, Jamait Ahlihadess termed the blasts as an inhuman act and said that Islam does not allow such acts. Jamat also condemned the imposition of undeclared curfew on Friday due to which people were not allowed to offer Friday prayers and appealed the human rights groups to take note of it.
In a statement, general secretary of Dukhtran-e-Kashmir, Ama Aitra has strongly condemned the Mumbai blasts and expressed sympathies with bereaved families.
